Bako Western Ltd was originally set-up by “bakers for bakers” and is a registered friendly society, a true co-operative. It has been established for over 55 years and predominantly services the independent bakery sector.
The Company operates in the field of wholesale distribution covering Bristol, Birmingham (South), Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Hereford, Worcester, Warwickshire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Devon & Cornwall and provides the independent bakery trade with an extensive range of ambient, chilled and frozen ingredients along with a variety of part baked and finished products.
Bako Western operates its own fleet of multi-temperature vehicles from its purpose-built warehouse and offices at its base in Cullompton, Devon.
It is the company’s objective to meet customer requirements and, where possible, to exceed customer expectations by providing products and services, which match and extend beyond the customers’ requirements.
The status of Bako in its chosen field for the provision of a professional product is well established. In addition to the specifications set by its customers the company’s products will be supplied to national or international standards that may be specified or required including:

An essential requirement of the continuing maintenance and development of the Company’s objectives are the installation and continuous improvement of a management system registered to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Storage and Distribution.
The objectives of this policy are achieved by the implementation and maintenance of a HACCP system specifically designed for the storage and distribution of food products.
